EPPD Bomb Squad responds to call in Northeast El Paso
07/20/22 - El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association According to EPPD officials, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) requested the bomb squad after a call along the 10200 block of Kenworthy in Northeast El Paso. The call for assistance went out sometime after 10:30 a.m. No other information was released by law enforcement. KTSM. |
El Paso police take part in Lower Valley pursuit after responding to burglary call

The suspects fled in a vehicle and led officers on a pursuit in the Lower Valley, the spokesperson added. Photos showed the pursuit at a standstill following a crash on North Carolina and Giles. Mexico Captures Infamous Drug Lord Rafael Caro Quintero, Still Wanted In LA
07/18/22 - El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association Infamous drug lord Rafael Caro Quintero, who was behind the killing of a U.S. DEA agent in 1985, was captured Friday by Mexican forces nearly a decade after walking out of a Mexican prison and returning to drug trafficking, according to the Mexican government’s national arrest registry. Caro Quintero remains under indictment in Los Angeles for the crime. |

Nurse accused of threatening police officers by 'giving them fentanyl to end their lives'
06/29/22 - El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association An El Paso nurse was arrested and accused of threatening police officers by saying he "would give them fentanyl to end their lives." Officers arrested 30-year-old Steven Holguin on Monday. Holguin was at the Cincinnati Entertainment District on Saturday. While being taken to the regional command he made threats against the officers. |

129 Officers Killed In Line Of Duty In 2021, FBI Report Says
06/15/22 - El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association Last month, the FBI released its 2021 Statistics on Law Enforcement Officers Killed in the Line of Duty. According to the report, 129 officers were killed in the line of duty in 2021, which is 27 more than the previous year. Of those 129 deaths, 73 were related to felonious acts and 56 were accidents. |
